This South Sound facility specializes in national acts ranging from veteran guitar slingers and hard rock legends to the most current MTV-type names. Most shows are presented by outside promoters with a select few produced in-house. Tickets are available at Planet Hot Rod (across the street) and all Ticketmaster outlets.
Located in Pierce county, Washington a scant few miles north of Tacoma on old Highway 99,The Mothership stands a cut above all other area concert clubs. With a capacity of nearly 1000 on the house floor and mezzanine and another 1000 in the downstairs video lounge, The Mothership opens up exciting new possibilities to the south Seattle/Tacoma nightlife scene. Since the majority of local live music takes place in antiquated, poorly maintained bars or vast echoing multipurpose structures, this room fills the need for a clean, safe, quality live entertainment facility that features topnotch performers, brewed beverages and mixed drinks, clean restrooms, and a killer sound system.
The second and third floors are the "live" viewing area and sport three separate bars serving well drinks and beer on tap. The first floor hosts the "long bar", A huge projection video screen, a score of 25" monitors, two dozen speakers, a DJ booth, and full kitchen. Live video and sound from the stage is fed to the entire building.In addition, selected shows may be recorded live, broadcast, or uploaded to the internet as streaming audio and video.
